Spangles, Elephants, Violets, and Me

I've just started reading Victoria Cristiani Rossi's memoir, Spangles, Elephants, Violets, and Me. I've gotten through the acknowledgments, forward, and prologue. This is going to be an interesting book, if I can keep up with how she bops from time to time in her life.

She alludes to the dark side of circus life, and the particular scandals the Cristiani family were accused of over the years. She also alludes to a bitter fight that estranged her from most of the family for many years. All of these things make me very curious. It will be interesting to see how she covers things from her inside point of view, having been raised inside Circus. It might give me a bit more specific information on building the circus of my novel.

"SPANGLES, Elephants, Violets and Me" by Victoria Cristiani Rossi is a must read circus book about real elephants and real circus people. Remarks and reviews have been outstanding. A read for both male and female. And to think this young lady was born March - 1940 and within ten days was on the CRISTIANI Family railroad car with the "The Greatest Show on Earth" traveling north out of Sarasota, FL for Madison Square Garden. Doesn't get much better. The Author's view of the circus is similarly complex, authentically described, and attended by abundant humor and homage. Barnes & Nobles - Sarasota will have an order of books next week and Vickie will be in the Store on March 22, 2008 signing books..She returns to Sarasota and will be the featured Circus Fans Association Banquet Speaker on April 19, 2008. Vickie just completed a book signing at the Ringling Circus Museum Gift Shop. Go to AMAZON.Com or Barnes & Nobles and order SPANGLES..
